About me

I've been a home gardener since 1984. I took horticulture classes at South Seattle Community College. I volunteered as a Master Gardener for 10 years. I worked for the NW Flower and Garden Show in its early years. I also have volunteered for the Center for Urban Horticulture. In 1993, I worked in a part-time internship with Bellevue Botanical Garden. It is there that I met my husband and we were married in our garden in 1996. We bought our first home in 1998 and developed a garden there. We moved after seven years to our current home east of Mill Creek in 2004. We started developing this garden in 2006. We took out the lawn. We have around 300 different kinds of trees, shrubs, perennials, and vines. In addition, I grow annual flowers and vegetables from seed.

Current project

Tagging my plants with the eventual goal of entering the information on a database. We just purchased new plant lights which has renewed my interest in growing from seed this year.
