About me

I’m a professional garden coach and award-winning garden designer with a passion for cultivating beautiful, functional, sustainable outdoor spaces. I’ve gardened, ranched, and farmed all over California, in Virginia and most recently in Seattle. As an award winning, professional landscape designer and professional garden coach (aka garden mentor, garden tutor or gardening consultant), I have a passion for teaching interested people of all gardening skill levels how to become more active and successful in their gardens, and I enjoy furthering my own gardening knowledge through continuing education, networking with other professionals and learning-by-doing. I do this through my Seattle, Washington-based garden coaching and garden design company, Garden Mentors Inc.

Current project

Very excited to be getting honey bee hives and orchard mason bee houses this season in my own garden!

Couldn't have been any crazier than your swarm film. I looked it up online - hilarious! It was great to meet you too!!

honey bee hives sound very exciting- like living on the edge! We just got some Mason Bees hoping they will help our lack of pollination problem. Hope to hear all about the bee adventure :)

Sorry if I never responded. Spring is insane. We are loving the honey bees. I've done a lot of writing about them on my blog at gardenhelp.org -- including adding video of the swarm action last week. Today we found out the new queen has emerged. We have yet to see how she works out. I have a lot of video up on youtube as well. If you guys want to do a piece on honey bees in urban gardens, let me know. I'd be happy to see about setting something up here. Cheers :) Robin
