description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita maxima 'Victor'"
Stunning, oblong shaped fruit characterize 'Victor' winter squash. This unique variety features brilliant orange colored fruit covered in bumpy warts. Despite its appearance, its dense flesh has a sweet taste with a subtle nutty flavor. Originally introduced in 1897 as 'Victor', it was re-introduced in 2000, as 'Red Warty Thing'. Whichever named used, it definitely is one of the most stunning squashes on the market. Maturity in 85-110 days. Edited by S. Derr
