description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita moschata 'Thai Rai Kaw Tok'"

Color, texture and taste combine to make 'Thai Rai Kaw Tok' a diverse type of pumpkin. This hard to pronounce variety hails from Thailand and is widely recognized by its deeply ribbed, flat topped, green colored fruit with distinct tan spots. Beneath this skin lies sweet tasting, yellowish/orange fruit with a delicious, smooth texture. Well suited for growing in hot Southern climates, it can be used for decorating or enjoyed in soups, curries and stir fries. Maturity in 85-110 days. Edited by S. Derr
