description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita maxima 'Golden Delicious'"

Known for its brilliantly color and tasty flesh is 'Golden Delicious' winter squash. First introduced in 1926, this variety is puported to be as sweet tasting as a sweet potato. Its bright tear drop shaped fruit is tapered at each end and features a gorgeous reddish/orange skin with matching flesh. Enjoy this tasty squash either roasted or fried, or even for baby food. Maturity in 100 days. Edited by S. Derr
