description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita moschata 'Chiriman'"

Intriguing color and taste characterize 'Chiriman' winter squash. This variety boasts warty, deeply ribbed green skin with intermittent white/cream splotches. Despite its appearance, its deep orange colored flesh is a delicious surprise. At full maturity, fruits can reach up to 11 pounds but for sweeter taste, it is recommended to harvest at approximately five pounds. Enjoy roasted, fried or in soups or cook it much like a butternut squash. Maturity in 91-100 days. Edited by S. Derr
