description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita maxima 'Big Max'"
Commonly producing 100 pound pumpkins is 'Big Max'. True to its name, this variety has huge but gorgeous colored orange skin that is deeply ribbed and can be up to four inches thick. Beneath this skin, lies bright orange/yellow, finely ground flesh that can be used in baking or more commonly seen during Halloween. Maturity in 110 -120 days. Edited by S. Derr
