description for "Winter Squash and Pumpkins: Cucurbita maxima 'Atlantic Giant'"

With its fruit averaging over 500 pounds 'Atlantic Giant' commands attention. This amazing pumpkin produces enormous sized fruits that are relatively easy to grow but hard to move out of the garden or field. Its orange skinned and deeply ribbed appearance gives way to orange colored flesh. This variety is a staple at Halloween and has set past world records for the biggest pumpkins ever grown. Maturity in 110-125 days. Edited by S. Derr
