description for "Summer Squash: Cucurbita pepo 'Mongogo Du Guatemala'"

While it looks more like a pumpkin, 'Mongogo Du Guatemala' is a colorful and diverse summer squash. With its fruit reaching up to 4 pounds, it features deep ribbing with dark green and creamy/orange colored stripes. When harvested young, its good for frying or grilling. If left to mature it is a tasty ingredient to pies and preserves. Additionally, it can also be used for Fall decorations. Maturity in 50-60 days. Edited by S. Derr
