description for "Peas: Pisum arvense 'Austrian Winter'"

Correct the nitrogen levels in soils with this cover crop. This cool season annual, is a low growing viney plant that is also ideal for light grazing, hay or feed for deer and other wildlife. In northern states, it won't winter over, as it cannot withstand a heavy frost. In more temperate zones, it will produce green pods measuring up to 2" in length and reddish/pink flowers. Edited by S.
