description for "Berries: Solanum burbankii 'Wonderberry'"
Small, dark purple berries characterize this Wonderberry. This historic heirloom variety, is actually a fruiting shrub. Reaching heights of nearly two feet, it can start producing fruit when only four inches tall or 2-3 months aged. Treat as an annual, as this plant is not cold hardy or frost resistant. Its unripe berries are poisonous to humans. It is recommended to make sure berries are fully ripe. Once they are, flavor with sugar to enhance their taste. Maturity in 75 days. Edited by S. Derr
