description for "Cucumber: Cucumis sativus 'West India Burr Gherkins'"

If it looks like a cucumber is it a cucumber? In this case, the answer is no. While technically not a true cucumber, its looks and uses resemble one. Hundreds of small, tasty fruit are produced on this unique plant. In fact, it yields more fruit than all other cucumber varieties. Its tiny, rounded green fruit has tiny prickles or bumps all over it. Ideal for eating raw or for pickling. Maturity in 65 days. Edited by S. Derr
