description for "Cucumber: Cucumis sativus 'Solly Beiler'"

A rough looking appearance signals a mild tasting delight. This unique cucumber, dates back to the 1930's. A Amish Heirloom, it features a yellow/brown colored skin, with crisp, tasty fruit inside. Its uniform growth makes it ideal for pickling. If picked young, it will have a sweeter taste to it. The plant itself is very productive and may need a trellis for support. Maturity in 55-70 days. Edited by S. Derr

History:

Native to the Amish
