description for "Beans: Psophocarpus tetra-gonolobus 'Asian Winged'"

A new addition to the American seed market, is this unique Asian bean. With its pods edged in frill or "wings", it's an unexpected site in and out of the garden. These green pods grow to 9" in length, whose taste is between an asparagus and snow pea. The green leaves can be cooked like spinach and have a nutty flavor. This unique bean can be used in stir frys or grilled. Pick early for a more flavorful taste. This variety does better in warmer, more tropical climates. Maturity in 100 days. Edited by S. Derr

History:

Native to Asia
