description for "Asparagus: Asparagus officinalis 'Precoce-d-Argenteuil'"

Find a spot in the garden for this old fashioned asparagus. A long time European favorite, it will add color and taste to any dish. Known for its exquisite flavor, it features green stems with rose colored buds. While somewhat difficult to grow, this perennial can continue to produce for 20 years. It is recommended to find a good area where water and cold won't settle, then move to a permanent location in its 2nd year. Hardy in zones 2-8. Edited by S. Derr
