description for "Chestnut: Castanea sativa 'Nevada'"

The possibilities are endless with this majestic chestnut tree. Whether eaten raw or cooked, its medium sized nuts are shielded in a prickly husk. Thus, making it squirrel proof. Once the nuts have fallen to the ground, they reveal brown nuts with sweet tasting kernels. It is recommended to pollinate with Colossal for an excellent yield. Hardy in zones 5-9. Edited by S.Derr
