description for "Pecans: Carya illinoinensis 'Desirable'"

High yields and good quality nuts characterize this pecan variety. This particular selection produces medium to large, soft shelled pecans with excellent flavor. Harvest is generally from late October to mid November. A popular variety in the Southeastern US, its not recommended for drier climates of Western States. This tree is also disease and scab resistant. Hardy in zones 6-9. Edited by S. Derr
