description for "Pecans: Carya illinoinensis 'Curtis'"

Small, oval shaped nuts along with high yields, characterize this pecan variety. These flavorful nuts, are encased in dark, speckled shells. Due to its high heat requirement, it is well suited for the Southern regions of the US. Fairly resistant to pecan scab and leaf diseases, its also displays a moderate growth habit with a slight spread. Additionally, it works well as a late season pollinator. Hardy in zones 6-9.
