description for "Tropicals: Dianella tasmanica 'Varietaga'"

Variegated Flax Lily is suitable for xeriscaping or container growing and spreads by rhizomes. Also known as Tasmanian Flax Lily, it is a very hardy and drought tolerant addition to the garden; well adapted to the hot, humid, stormy South Florida region as an attractive plant for any situation. Flax Lily is common now in street median strips, and commercial parking lot islands, as well as for any commercial or residential plant installation. the white and green leaves offer an attractive design element to contrast with plants with other color, flowers, leaf shapes, etc. The plants produce turquoise/blue berries in the fall (not edible) that, along with the evergreen foliage, make a colorful point of interest in a fall/winter garden.
