description for "Carrots: Daucus carota 'Round Romeo'"
'Round Romeo' - petite, ball-shaped beauties - are extra tasty morsels to enjoy in just a few bites with excellent sweet flavor and crunchy texture. Delightful little 'Round Romeo' has smooth-skinned orange flesh that needs no peeling; kids like to eat them right out of the garden! These delicious baby gourmet carrots don't need deeply prepared soil as do other root crops. They are fast and easy to grow and widely adapted to perform well in home gardens. Let 'Round Romeo' carrots color up to orange before harvesting at about one to one-half inches in diameter for best flavor. Pull as babies or let fully size up. Steam them whole, then toss with butter and fresh chopped dill or parsley or chives. Or simply steam, toss with a little butter, salt lightly and add a touch of brown sugar or maple syrup. - edited by dtd pbcouchman
