description for "Cosmos: Cosmos bipinnatus 'Dancing Petticoats'"

‘Dancing Petticoats,’ a custom seed blend of special cosmos dance and sway above lacy foliage. Renee’s Seeds has combined ‘Sea Shells’ cosmos, with tubular dainty petals, ‘Psyche’ cosmos, whose semidouble frilled blossoms are like softly ruffled crowns, and ‘Versailles’ cosmos, the aristocratic florist cosmos with perfect form and rich color. ‘Dancing Petticoats’ paint a joyous collage of apple blossom pink, deep magenta, soft rose and pure white, some with deeper colored centers. These easy-care lovelies bloom nonstop, with armfuls for romantic bouquets. The free-flowering, long blooming summer flowers of ‘Dancing Petticoats’ fill the garden with vibrant color, producing reliably in all soil types. Sow several times through June for a succession of fresh flowers. Cutting generous bouquets actually prolongs the blooming season (called “deadheading”). ‘Dancing Petticoats’ pairs beautifully with cleome, asters and zinnias. – edited by dtd pbcouchman
