Cucurbita pepo 'Golden Scallopini' produces saucer-shaped golden fruits with scalloped edges. 'Golden Scallopini' is a delicious summer squash when picked small. Bushy plants are early to produce and remain prolific throughout the season. Sow 2-3 seeds every 2-3 ft in rows 3-6 ft apart when danger of frost has passed. Thin to one plant. Can sow indoors, 2-4 weeks before the last frost and transplant very carefully. Enrich soil heavily with mature compost. Most tender when picked young 3-4 in. long. Planting depth: .5-1 inch. Days to germination: 3-7 days. 55 days to maturity.
