description for "Kale: Brassica oleracea 'Blue Lacinato'"

Brassica oleracea 'Blue Lacinato' is a classic Italian 'Dino' kale with deep blue-grey, super-savoyed long and narrow leaves. Extremely winter-hardy variety becomes sweeter after a hard frost. In replicated trials our Lacinato was faster growing and excelled in vigor compared with other commercial sources. Pick leaves with twice the level of anti-oxidant carotenoids compared to other varieties from the bottom up for continuous harvest. Planting depth: .25-.5 inch. Days to germination: 5-10 days. 50-60 days to maturity.
