Zea mays 'Black Aztec' was introduced in the 1860s by seedsman John Gregory. Remarkable 'Black Aztec' is a classic, vigorous sweet and flour corn that produces 8" ears with white kernels during the milk (eating) stage, then a deep blue black when dry. Grows 4-5 feet. Planting depth: .5 inch. Days to germination: 4-12 days. 70-95 days to maturity.
