Beta vulgaris 'Boro F-1' is an extremely smooth, very dark purple beet that can be harvested early for fresh market mini or later as a 3" round root for marketing or whole pickling. 'Boro F-1' is an excellent keeper. 12" tops, lush and tender, are outstanding when steamed. Good field resistance to Cercospera and Alternaria. Planting depth: .5-.75 inch. Days to germination: 5-10 days. 50-55 days to maturity.
