Phaseolus vulgaris, 'Provider'. Verstile variety that will yield very well under a diversity of conditions. 'Provider' produces 5-6" beans from purple seed, which tends to germinate better than white seeds in the cooler soils of early plantings. Very popular medium green bean on a 15" compact plant. Planting depth: 3/4-2 inches. Days to germination: 6-12 days. 55-60 days to maturity.
