description for "Zinnias: Zinnia elegans 'Uproar™ Rose'"

A very eye-catching upright zinnia with up to 5 inch wide magenta petals, with a small yellow crown in the center. This beauty draws butterflies and garden visitors alike for its show-stopping color. Makes a great cut flower. 'Uproar™ Rose' is similar to Zinnia 'Magellan', but is significantly taller at 30-36” tall and 2 feet or more wide, and great branching for a continuously blooming performance. This zinnia loves the heat and will add color interest and height to your summer garden. Zinnias are one of the easiest annuals to grow, and attract butterflies to the garden. They do require well-drained soil to prevent over-saturation, which can lead to powdery mildew. Space the plants generously to prevent overcrowding. --edited by dtd siegelgirl

History:

Zinnias are native to Northern and central Mexico.
