description for "Verbenas: Verbena 'Tuscany® Orchid Frost'"

Verbena 'Tuscany® Orchid Frost' produces blooms with a dark pink center fading to light pink edges. The ‘Tuscany’ series is naturally compact and well-branched – making this verbena perfect for containers. Plus, it is more resistant to disease than other varieties, produces tons of large flowers, and loves it hot! Good drought tolerance and a long flowering season. A hardy perennial in zones 9-11. Grown as an annual in other zones. Sow the seed on to a moist seed sowing compost in a 144 plug tray or slightly larger unit and cover lightly with vermiculite. Do not water the covering, as verbena seed doesn't germinate as well if it is kept too wet. Also germinate in the dark for best results and keep at a temperature 18 to 20c. As the seedlings emerge maintain a temperature of 15c. Grow on at 15-20c until they are established and then transfer them either to 9 cm or 1 litre pots for sale in Late April-May.
