description for "Snapdragon: Antirrhinum majus 'Chimes™ Lavender'"

'Chimes™ Lavender' snapdragon produces fragrant, strong branching, 6-8 inch plants with tightly spaced rich lavender florets. The short, stocky and compact plants are long flowering and excellent for beds, borders and containers. They prefer a sunny position in any garden soil. Well drained soil is best. A great dwarf variety for containers, mixed color bowls or at the front of the border. The 'Chimes' snapdragon series are pretty and petite cool season growers. Outstanding in mass plantings. Teams well with pansies and spring bulbs. Pinch back spent flowers to prolong bloom season and encourage fullness. Nice for Easter and Mother's Day. Snapdragons are self-sowing annual plants. They are cool-season annuals that bloom all spring through early summer in nearly every available flower color, or bicolor, except blue and green. With cutting back in the summer many snapdragons will rebloom when cooler fall temperatures arrive. --edited by dtd siegelgirl
