description for "Snapdragon: Antirrhinum majus 'Aromas™ Fresh Lemon'"

'Aromas™ Fresh Lemon' snapdragon produces upright lemon yellow blooms. These cool season growers are great for garden height. Nice at Easter and Mother's Day. 'Aromas' is a new series of Antirrhinum that is very tall, fragrant, and uniform in habit. Early flowering, well branched plants. Upgraded replacement for the popular Ribbon Series. Vigorous, colorful annuals, valued for their long-blooming and profuse display of stunning flowers from pastels to dark shades. Flowers are densely packed along stalks, and are about 1-inch wide, with a distinctive lipped shape. Sturdy compact plants are bushy and very uniform. Colorful spikes or snaps are popular for adding informal charm to flower beds and indoor bouquets. Plants grow as one or several tall stalks covered with bright flowers. Outstanding in mass plantings or borders. Teams well with pansies and spring bulbs. Pinch back spent flowers to prolong bloom season and encourage fullness. Start seed indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting outside or sow directly outside after danger of frost is past. Hardy in zones 6-10; otherwise grown as an annual. --edited by dtd siegelgirl
