Columbine is native to temperate areas of North America and Europe. Columbines are lovely in rock gardens and borders. Spring bloomers, the flowers can be lavender, red, blue, yellow, blue or white depending on the species or cultivar. Many like a little afternoon shade. Can be propagated from seed or division.
