description for "Amaryllis: Hippeastrum 'Flower Record'"

'Flower Record' is one record that'll be tough to beat, even as bigger and better hybrids hit the street. Introduced in 1980, large-flowering 'Flower Record' has been around the block a few times, and still finishes ahead of the best of 'em when it comes to height and number of blooms. Bulbs produce two 22-inch-tall stems which each deliver as many as 5 buds per stem, a bonus of one or two over other varieties. The 7-inch-wide, salmon-and-white flowers are unrivaled. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
