description for "Amaryllis: Hippeastrum 'Red Lion'"

The spectacular, velvety-red flowers of 'Red Lion' amaryllis are a sure antidote to the winter blahs. These dramatic blooms may grow 8 inches across and each flower stalk may hold four or five flowers. They make excellent gifts for any occasion. The stalks grow to about 16 inches tall and they frequently have multiple stems for double the blooms! This classic red amaryllis is perfect for holiday centerpieces. Established in 1958, this 'Red Lion' has been a winner for more than 40 years. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
