description for "Plum: Prunus domestica 'Stanley' (Dwarf Form)"

'Stanley' is the number one, best-known favorite with growers. It has perfect, oval shape and deep purple fruit open to a golden yellow, sugary freestone flesh. These are terrific fresh, canned, or dried. Recommended for the Northeast, Midwest, and upper regions of the South. Abundant crops are ready for picking in early September in Zone 5. This form is the same as standard 'Stanley', but in a dwarf form. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
