description for "Snapdragon: Antirrhinum majus 'Little Darling Mix'"

An All-America Selections Winner. Flower spikes are tightly packed with unique butterfly type florets in a balanced mix of vibrant colors. Husky, uniform, dwarf 12 inch plants. Valued for their long-blooming and profuse display of stunning flowers from pastels to dark shades. Flowers are densely packed along stalks, and are about 1-inch wide, with a distinctive lipped shape. Sturdy compact plants are bushy and very uniform. Colorful spikes or snaps are popular for adding informal charm to flower beds and indoor bouquets. Outstanding in mass plantings or borders. Teams well with pansies and spring bulbs. Pinch back spent flowers to prolong bloom season and encourage fullness. Start seed indoors 6 to 8 weeks before planting outside or sow directly outside after danger of frost is past. Hardy in zones 6-10; otherwise grown as an annual. --edited by dtd siegelgirl
