description for "Amaryllis: Hippeastrum 'Minerva'"

'Minerva' has been a favorite of amaryllis lovers since 1962. The red-and-white star blooms span 7 inches wide and are borne on 20-inch stems. This holiday-hued amaryllis is easy to grow. The bulbs are generous bloomers and often send up multiple stems so that you'll be regaled with 4 to 5 blossoms per stem--twice! The size of the bulb you buy counts! -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
