description for "Plum: Prunus domestica 'Premier'"

'Premier' plum is a gigantic, Japanese hybrid plum (developed in Missouri) and the best choice for the Ohio Valley and the Northeast, as well as the Midwest. The tree is loaded with huge, semi-freestone plums. The skin is radiant red and the flesh is firm and golden yellow. Sweet and juicy. Pollinate with 'Starking Delicious', 'Shiro' or 'Burbank Red Ace'. Ripens in mid-August in Zone 5. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
