description for "Caladium: Caladium 'Pink Beauty'"

'Pink Beauty' will brighten any garden bed with its pink mottled foliage. This South American beauty bears heart-shaped, rainbow-colored leaves and is prettier than many flowers. 'Pink Beauty' is a dwarf variety. Pot caladiums early indoors with a starting temperature of 70 degrees or more, then plant them, pot and all, outdoors in the sun or semi-shade after spring frosts have ended. Caladiums are also great choices for shady window boxes where sun-loving annuals won't grow. Water well and spray leaves frequently during hot, dry weather. 'Pink Beauty' is an excellent plant for conservatories or warm sun porches during the winter. Caladiums are hardy in zones 10 and 11; elsewhere, after frost arrives, dig, dry, and store the bulbs in a cool, dry frost-free place. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
