description for "Columbine: Aquilegia desertorum"

Aquilegia desertorum is an impressive plant with a profusion of small bright orange/yellow flowers. (Note that the amount of orange in the outer petals is variable; these are wildflowers). Even dry, hot summers don't shorten the 3 month blooming season. This columbine comes from drier, lower elevations of Coconino Co. in north central Arizona and is more amenable to non-mountain climates.

History:

Aquilegia desertorum is native to the Arizona region.
