description for "Cosmos: Cosmos bipinnatus 'Picotee'"

The peppermint bicolor blooms of 'Picotee' are simply scrumptious. The flowers range from almost pure white to white with a rosy-red border to solid rose-red; you'll be able to create a color-coordinated bouquet from one plant. 'Picotee' grows 3 to 4 feet tall and is very easy to grow. These marvelous flowers are in bloom from midsummer until frost. Enjoy their silky blooms and lacy foliage in sunny beds, borders, background plantings--and make sure to plant extra for bouquets! Plant seeds where you want them to grow in any sunny location. Butterflies love them, too! -- edited by dtd pbcouchman

History:

Cosmos bipinnatus is native to southwestern United States, Mexico and South America.
