description for "Columbine: Aquilegia 'Irish Elegance'"

'Irish Elegance' is a unique variety of columbine bearing extra-double white blooms that resemble small Camellia-like flowers. 'Irish Elegance', with its graceful mound of foliage, makes an ideal accent for mixed borders or clumped in groups of three plants for maximum effect. A rich well-drained soil yields the best results. Aquilegia self-sows freely; plant a wide variety of plants and see what interesting natural hybrids may develop. These vigorous plants will bloom the second year. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
