Brodiaea is named after the Scottish botanist J.J. Brodie. These corms produce grass-like foliage with numerous blue flowers in each loose umbel. The stems are strong making them good candidates for cutting. Blooming in June and July, brodiaea combines well with lilies, Coreopsis, or yellow-flowered annuals. Water freely during the growing season, but keep dry once the plant has gone dormant for the winter. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
