description for "Clematis: Clematis 'Nelly Moser'"
Clematis 'Nelly Moser' is an 8-inch wide, eight-sepalled flower with brilliant coloring. The flower is soft pink with carmine bars; anthers are purplish. This is a vigorous variety with many flowers. We like to use it where there is some protection from the sun to avoid flower fading. 'Nelly Moser' is a member of Groups 2a and 2b (Groups B1 and B2) – prune only after flowering, to shape, or to remove dead wood. The Group 2 clematis flowers on wood produced the previous season AND on the current year’s growth. However, the Group 2 differs from Group 1 in that they flower both in the spring and then again either intermittently through the summer (Group 2b) or in the fall (Group 2a). To encourage additional blooms, Group 2 clematis should be deadheaded after the initial spring bloom. Provide full sun to part shade and consistent moisture. – edited by dtd pbcouchman
