description for "Dianthus: Dianthus 'Clove Pink'"

'Clove Pink' is a stunning selection with a delicious scent. Gray green foliage bears 2 flowers per stem and plants keep blooming for about 8 weeks. If giving protection over the winter, this short-lived perennial will return for several years. Requires full sun and plenty of drainage. They hate wet feet! Do not overfertilize, and keep the soil neutral to alkaline (most other garden plants prefer neutral to acidic garden soils). -- edited by dtd pbcouchman

History:

'Clove Pink' is a dianthus hybrid between a type of garden pink and the modern flower shop carnation.
