description for "Plum: Prunus domestica 'Burbank Red Ace'"

'Burbank Red Ace' semi-dwarf is a prize variety created by Luther Burbank. He was so proud of this tree, he wrote, "Big, firm, rich, sweet as nectar." Reaches only 12 to 15 feet with a graceful spreading form. The red-fleshed fruit is semi-freestone. Pollinate with 'Redheart', 'Shiro', or 'Premier'. Ripens mid-August in Zone 5. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
