description for "Cinquefoil: Potentilla 'Gibson's Scarlet'"
'Gibson's Scarlet' cinquefoil belongs to a very colorful, easy to grow group of plants. They bloom heavily in early summer with roundish, flat flowers, but some will rebloom to a lesser degree in late summer. The foliage is reminiscent of wild strawberries. An excellent choice for the front of the border or the rockery. 'Gibson's Scarlet' has a loose, open habit and is hardy to zone 5. Be sure to provide full sun and adequate drainage. Does best in climates where nights are cool. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
