description for "Apples: Malus domestica 'Stark® Emerald Spire'"
'Stark® Emerald Spire' is an attractive green apple with a beautiful, golden blush. Pick and enjoy in early-to-mid September in Zone 5. U.S. Plant Patent No. 6625. They grow to about 8 feet tall and only 2 feet wide, require little or no maintenance, and have attractive white or pink blossoms in spring. Plant at least 2 varieties for proper pollination. If potting, use at least 17-inch diameter pot. They normally start bearing apples in the third year. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
