description for "Tropicals: Kalanchoe manginii"
Kalanchoe is also known as Palm Beach Bells. A Madagascar native that prefers a porous, gritty soil with ample moisture during the growing period. The foliage is minutely hairy when young and fleshy, succulent-like with spoon-shaped leaves when mature. The growth habit is semi-erect and free-branching with drooping stems carrying cheery clusters of 1-inch long, bell-shaped red flowers in spring and summer. Great for containers and hanging baskets or as an indoor plant in bright areas. Use in full sun or partial shade in well drained soil.
