description for "Foxgloves: Digitalis gloxiniiflora"

Digitalis gloxiniiflora is an extra large flowered strain, with a flared opening, revealing heavy mottling inside the deep pink, tubular flowers. This is the dominant flower color - white, yellow, purple, and other shades of pink do occur. Sturdy stems with deeply veined, medium green leaves. Prefers partial shade and rich, moist, well-drained soil. Can be used for mid-border groupings, as a specimen, and naturalizing. Ideal for the cottage garden. Cuts well.
