description for "Plum: Prunus domestica 'Stanley'"

'Stanley' is the number one and best-known favorite with growers. We think it's because our 'Stanley's' perfect, oval shape and deep purple fruit open to a golden yellow, sugary freestone flesh. These are terrific fresh, canned, or dried. Recommended for the Northeast, Midwest, and upper regions of the South. Abundant crops are ready for picking in early September in Zone 5. -- edited by dtd pbcouchman
